Pre-Instructions for Church Use of Jump Houses

Inform your church of the following

This is provided through the

Mary Hill Davis State Missions Offering

of the Woman's Missionary Union,

the Baptist General Convention of Texas &

Coastal Bend Baptist Association

PURPOSE: Helping churches reach families with children.

NOTICE: Prior to using the jump houses you MUST conduct an operator's meeting with all who will be setting up, breaking down, operating and overseeing the use of the jump houses.

All necessary documents and forms are in the yellow folder; some must be signed and dated. Obtain the folder up prior to your meeting.

Maintenance Fee

Due to regular repair and maintenance required for the volume of equipment related to this ministry (trailer, 2 jump houses, generator, 2 heavy-duty extension cords, tarps, and other peripheral equipment), there is a non-refundable maintenance fee of no less than $75.00 due prior to use.  The fee will confirm your reservation.  Another church may reserve the equipment on the date you choose if you do not have your maintenance fee in.  The $75.00 maintenance fee, and any additional donation you may give, is designated to maintaining and expanding the children's events equipment and ministry.

If the equipment is damaged beyond normal wear-and-tear, your church will be asked to cover the expense of major repair or replacement of equipment. Please follow all guidelines so this will not become necessary.

In light of that, you will want to very carefully inspect and test the condition of all the equipment prior to using it for your event. If you find that there is damage to any of the equipment, immediately contact CBBA (361-595-5523) and notify them of the damage. This way you will not be held responsible for repairing damage from a previous user.

Jump House Trailer

Requires a 2-inch ball to pull

Load and unload trailer in the same arrangement as it was packed when you received it.

You will need no less than 2 men to unload and load the trailer (the large jump house weighs approximately 300 lbs. and is bulky to handle.)

For the large jump house, if possible, position the trailer so you can unload and load the jump house at the spot where you will be setting it up.

A (4' x 8') ¾" plywood board is inside the trailer to be used as a ramp.

Two 50 foot, 12-gauge extension cords are provided for the jump toys; if more are needed, use ONLY 10-or 12-gauge extension cords, no more than 100 feet long! (14 gauge cords could heat up under the electrical load and be dangerous.)

Set-Up Site

Prior to reserving the jump houses, survey your property and select a site based on the following:

       Large, grassy area

Free of any sharp objects (rocks, sticks, broken glass, nails, screws, etc.)

                Flat, level area

                Ability to place

one tarp under the small jump house, and

two tarps under the large jump house

NO water or moisture of any kind close by; the jump houses will mildew and be ruined if they become wet and are stored with any dampness on a surface.

Small Jump House: preschool aged only

15' x 15' Mini-Combo

Has a bounce area and small obstacle course with ladder to slide out

Safety: have at least one person at entry and one person at end of slide

Restriction: this jump house is for preschool aged children only

This jump house is heavy, but can be set up by one person if necessary.

Large Jump House: 1st - 6th Grade children only

        15' x 30' Obstacle Course

This jump house is made to move through. There are 2 areas where children can compete to finish the obstacle course

Tear-Down

Due to the danger of mildew and mold, if ANY moisture gets on a jump house, you MUST thoroughly dry all surfaces prior to folding and storing.

Have towels or any necessary drying equipment handy.

There are Documents to Be Signed and Returned to CBBA:

         1.  Operators Training Meeting (sign-in sheet)
